Higher Resolution Scans of the Shorthand Notes
These files are of higher resolution
than those accessible from the Primary Sources menus.
These files are LARGE (150-200 Mb) and may not load quickly over the net. Once loaded into Acrobat Reader, however,
click on File > Save
As or Save File (this varies with different versions of Acrobat) and you can then save them as a local file on
your own computer. Once saved locally,
they can be loaded quickly for future reference.
Which Volume do I need?
References to the Notes on this website begin with a volume number, followed by a
page number and sometimes followed by a line number. If you don’t know the volume and page number,
a fairly quick way to find the Notes
volume and page number for any passage is to locate that passage in the Notes Transcripts which can be found in
the Primary Sources menus. The transcripts are searchable typed PDF
files so by searching for a phrase or a word it is usually very quick to locate
a given passage. Then simply note the
volume and page number printed at the top of that page, come back here and load
the appropriate volume, and then ‘go to’ that page in Acrobat Reader.
